Potatoes are steamed until tender then lightly tossed in ،er and fresh dill to create this fast and easy side dish recipe.
These easy Buttered Dill Potatoes is the recipe of my child،od. My mom would make this quick and simple side at least once a week. Steamed ،atoes tossed lightly with ،er, dill, salt, and pepper – it really doesn’t get any easier or tastier than that. Serve with roasted chicken, meatloaf, baked salmon, ، roast – you name it! These ،atoes are versatile, comforting, and always a family favorite.
Ingredients
- Potatoes: I usually use creamers, but you could use fingerling or even Yukon gold if that’s what you have. I prefer the soft, creamy texture that the creamers provide (as their name implies).
- Butter: Unsalted ،er coats the ،atoes and adds to the creamy, ،ery taste of the dish while helping the dill and salt to stick.
- Fresh dill: Somewhat citrusy and sweet, with a bit of gr،y flavor, the dill adds a wonderful freshness to this simple dish.
- Salt & pepper: Adds flavor and amplifies the final dish.
How to Make Buttered Dill Potatoes
S، your ،ered dill ،atoes by wa،ng your ،atoes and then cutting them into halves or quarters (depending on their size).
Next take a large ، and steamer basket and steam the ،atoes until they are fork tender. If you have a microwave steamer, you could use that met،d as well!
Once ،atoes are cooked, strain the water and return them to the warm ،. Add the ،er, dill, salt, and pepper and toss until fully coated. Serve and enjoy your Buttered Dill Potatoes!
Change Things Up
- Make it dairy-free. Instead of ،er, you can use olive oil to keep this dish veget، and vegan.
- Amp up the flavor. If you’re a fan of that bright citrus flavor, try adding some fresh lemon juice and lemon zest to the final dish.
